Fall Into Your Power: Become Who You Said You Would Be
Angela C. Richardson shares how discipline, consistency and flexible fitness routines can help you stay committed to your wellness goals, navigate a changing schedule and keep becoming a stronger version of yourself.
Become Who You Said You Would Be
As September comes to a close, I’ve been thinking about what this new season has taught me.
My schedule changed.
My routine changed.
My workouts changed.
But my goals did not.
And that has been one of the biggest reminders for me this month:
Your circumstances may change, but your commitment to yourself can remain the same.

September has challenged me to figure out how to fit my workouts into a different schedule without feeling like I’m missing something. I’ve had to adjust my routine, rethink my workout days, and make the most of the time I have.
I went back to lifting heavier. I added running. I challenged myself physically because I have new goals I want to reach.
It hasn't always been easy.
But growth isn't supposed to be comfortable all the time.

This Is What Consistency Really Looks Like
Consistency isn't always doing the exact workout you planned.
It isn't always having the perfect week.
It isn't working out at the same time every day.
Sometimes consistency looks like adjusting.
Sometimes it means shortening your workout.
Sometimes it means moving your workout to another day.
Sometimes it means taking a step back so you can recover and come back stronger.
What matters is that you don't allow one change, one missed workout, or one difficult week to convince you that you've failed.
You adjust. You refocus. You keep going.

Fall Into Your Power
A new season gives us an opportunity to ask ourselves:
Who am I becoming?
Not just, “What do I want to accomplish?”
But, “What kind of person do I need to become to accomplish it?”
If you want to become stronger, start thinking and training like someone who values strength.
If you want to become healthier, start making choices that support your health.
If you want to become more disciplined, practice following through even when you don't feel motivated.
If you want to become more confident, keep promises to yourself.
Your goals are important, but so is the identity you're building along the way.

Don't Let a Busy Schedule Become an Excuse
Life will always have something going on.
There will be busy seasons.
Unexpected responsibilities.
Changes at work.
Family commitments.
Days when you're tired.
Days when motivation is nowhere to be found.
That's why we cannot depend on motivation alone.
Discipline helps us keep moving when motivation isn't there.
But discipline doesn't mean beating yourself up when things don't go according to plan.
It means finding another way.
This month, I've had to remind myself of that.
My fall schedule looks different from my summer schedule. Instead of wishing I had the schedule I used to have, I'm learning to work with the schedule I have now.
That's growth.

Look at How Far You've Come
Before you rush into your next goal, take a moment to acknowledge your progress.
Look at where you started.
Think about the habits you've built.
Think about the workouts you completed.
Think about the days you didn't feel like doing it but showed up anyway.
Think about the times you adjusted instead of quitting.
Think about the moments when you chose yourself.
Progress isn't always something you can see in the mirror or on the scale.
Sometimes progress is the discipline you've developed.
Sometimes it's the confidence you have gained.
Sometimes it's realizing that you don't give up on yourself anymore.
That is progress too.

Your Goals Still Matter
Maybe you didn't accomplish everything you wanted to accomplish this year.
That's okay.
You still have time.
Your timeline may change, but that doesn't mean your vision has to.
Continue working toward your long-term goals while creating short-term goals that keep you moving forward.
One workout.
One healthy meal.
One run.
One strength session.
One better choice.
One day at a time.
Those small choices add up.
Coach's Challenge
As we close out September, take some time to reflect and reset.
Write down:
1. One goal I am still committed to:
What long-term goal are you continuing to work toward?
2. One short-term goal I will focus on next:
What can you accomplish over the next few weeks?
3. One habit I need to strengthen:
What will help you stay consistent?
4. One thing I am proud of:
What progress do you need to celebrate?
And finally:
5. Who am I becoming?
Let your answer guide your actions.
Reflection
Fall isn't about starting over.
It's about taking everything you've learned from the previous season and using it to become stronger, wiser, and more intentional.
My September reminded me that I can adjust my routine without changing my goals.
And maybe that's the reminder you need too.
Your schedule may change.
Your routine may change.
Your goals may evolve.
But don't lose sight of the commitment you've made to yourself.
Fall into your power.
Show up for yourself.
Keep your promises to yourself.
Adjust when necessary.
Stay disciplined when it's challenging.
And become the person you said you would be.
New season. Different routine. Same commitment.
Look how far you've come—and keep going.
