CIVIC ENGAGEMENT: No Kings Atlantic City March to Unite South Jersey Communities, Encourage Early Voting
The Oct. 17 march and gathering at O’Donnell Park will bring together community organizations, labor advocates and local leaders for an afternoon of solidarity and civic participation.

ATLANTIC CITY — Empathy United, Atlantic City’s local Indivisible chapter, will join the Atlantic City Branch of the NAACP and the Atlantic County Council of Education Associations to host a No Kings March and Solidarity Gathering on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026.
The event will bring together residents, grassroots organizations, labor advocates and community leaders from across South Jersey, with an emphasis on strengthening community connections and encouraging early voting in the upcoming election.

The march will begin at 3 p.m. at Missouri Avenue and the Atlantic City Boardwalk. Participants will proceed along the Boardwalk before exiting at Albany Avenue and gathering at O’Donnell Park at approximately 3:30 p.m.
The Atlantic City gathering is planned as a culminating event following several No Kings actions scheduled elsewhere in South Jersey earlier that day:
- Cape May Court House: A caravan at noon at 16 E. Mechanic St.
- Galloway: An event at noon at 300 E. Jimmie Leeds Road.
- Ocean City: An event at noon at Bay Avenue and East Ninth Street.
Organizers hope participants from those events and other communities throughout the region will come together in Atlantic City to support community members most directly affected by the issues driving the No Kings movement.
“Our goal is to bring people together across communities, organizations, and movements,” organizers from Empathy United said. “Atlantic City is home to communities whose voices deserve to be centered in these conversations. We want this gathering to be an opportunity not only to demonstrate solidarity, but to build lasting relationships and connect people with organizations doing important work throughout South Jersey.”
Local organizations and community groups have been invited to host informational tables at O’Donnell Park. Attendees will have opportunities to learn about ongoing initiatives, access community resources and explore ways to become involved in local organizing efforts.
The gathering will also emphasize civic participation, offering attendees opportunities to commit to voting early and learn more about making their voices heard.
Scheduled speakers include:
- Mayor Zack Mullock
- Tina Dare, secretary-treasurer of the New Jersey Education Association
- Jailen Scott, a youth leader and member of the NAACP Youth Council
Additional community leaders and representatives of local organizations are expected to participate.
Participants may join both the march and the gathering or attend whichever portion works best for them.
The event is free and open to the public. Organizers encourage South Jersey residents to connect with neighbors and community organizations during an afternoon of peaceful assembly and civic engagement.
