A Conversation with the First Black Committeewoman in Hamilton Township
Civic Engagement With Raymond Tyler: Atlantic City Focus Executive Editor Interviews Dr. Thelma Witherspoon, who is the first Black woman to hold the position of Egg Harbor Township, NJ Committeewoman.
Black History Month is upon us, and I am excited to welcome a history maker to my podcast, "Civic Engagement with Raymond Tyler." I have the honor to chat with Hamilton Township Committeewoman Dr. Thelma Witherspoon to discuss what she does for her municipality; what she learned as a former president and vice president of the Atlantic City Board of Education; and the affection and gratitude she has toward some of the mentors who helped her along the way. Witherspoon is the first Black woman to serve as a committeewoman for Hamilton Township. This current role is her latest commitment to community service that has spanned more than 35 years.
Please enjoy the show.
