PREVIEW: Atlantic City Focus Hosts Civic Engagement Forum Featuring South Jersey Leaders and Congressional Candidates
Community members gathered in Atlantic City for a special Atlantic City Focus civic engagement panel discussing government, education, immigration, public safety, and the future of South Jersey communities.

ATLANTIC CITY — On Sunday, April 26, 2026, Atlantic City Focus sponsored a community event titled Civic Engagement: Where Do We Go From Here?
The program’s title was inspired by the book Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community? by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr..

Atlantic City Focus invited community members to attend a special taping of its Civic Engagement panel discussion series.
Featured guests included Tracy Thompson, a member of the Hamilton Township Committee. Thompson explained how the committee form of municipal government operates and answered questions about serving the residents of Hamilton Township.
The event also welcomed candidates for Congress in New Jersey, Terri Reese and Tim Alexander. Both candidates answered questions on a range of issues, including education and immigration.
The panel also featured Sean Riggin, Director of Public Safety for the City of Atlantic City, who is currently running for Atlantic County Sheriff. His full interview will appear in the complete presentation.
Atlantic City Focus also thanked its guest moderators, including Vanessa Maria Graber of The Hall Monitor, which airs on FM 106.5 WPPM in Philadelphia. Guest moderator Alice Carcilli of INDIVISIBLE ATLANTIC CITY: Empathy United also participated, along with Nathan Davis III, a local educator and freelance journalist who has contributed to publications including The Source Magazine.
Atlantic City Focus additionally thanked the audience members who attended the live taping, as well as venue host Beat The Daily Grind Cafe and its staff for helping make the event possible.
