Postcard From Mayor Marty Small's Scholarship Dinner at Steele Pier

ATLANTIC CITY - Mayor Marty Small, Sr. and the ‘Mayor Marty Small, Sr. Scholarship’ committee awarded scholarships of $10,000 each for Atlantic City residents ahead of the start of the 2024/2025 school year. These scholarships went to Atlantic City residents.

This is the second year of a three-year, $3-million commitment to the residents of Atlantic City ($1-million each year) by Mayor Small. In the Spring, 100 scholarships of $10,000 each ($5,000 for the Fall 2024 semester and $5,000 for the Spring 2025 semester) were awarded.

The scholarship dinner was held in July. The breakdown for the second year of the program to this point was as follows:

• 45 Scholarships – Atlantic City residents who graduated from Atlantic City High School this past Spring who plan to attend college in the Fall

• 45 Scholarships – Atlantic City residents who graduated from Atlantic City High School who are incoming college sophomores, juniors and seniors this Fall

• 9 Scholarships – Atlantic City residents who graduated from Atlantic City High School who are currently pursuing a Masters or Doctorate Degree

• 1 Scholarship (broken into 10 parts) – Partnership with nonprofit Battle by the Bay for them to distribute $1,000 each to Atlantic City High School students

Applications can be found at www.acnj.gov. The deadline to apply is 4 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024.

Mayor Marty Small, Sr. held a special celebration at Steel Pier on July 30, 2024 for the Atlantic City residents who received $10,000 each as part of the second year of the ‘Mayor Marty Small, Sr. Scholarship’ program.

Resident Stasha Davis received a scholarship to help her pursue her pH.D and discusses the importance of the scholarship to her.
