On The Road: July 4th, Weekend In and Around Philadelphia
Philadelphia is loaded with great parties and events this weekend. So here are some of the great events I am going to try and squeeze into my holiday weekend.



PHILADELPHIA -Philly you have done it again. You have stolen me away from Atlantic City for another holiday weekend road trip. I will also say Baltimore, DMV, and Washington , DC...you almost had me and you will see me this summer.

July 2nd-The All American Block Party
11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
3rd Street between Chestnut and Walnut

Supported by Bank of America
As part of Red, White, and Blue To Do this block party will include pay-as-you-go food trucks, family-friendly activities and games, special activations and extended hours at local museums and attractions, and a performance from DJ Sophia Rocks, a 17 year-old musical prodigy who began DJing at age two and performing professionally by the age of six.

Philadelphia's Historic District

The Philadelphia Historic District partners are gearing up for the annual Red, White, & Blue To-Do celebration, commemorating a day of “pomp and parade,” as declared by John Adams in 1776, encouraging visitors to celebrate independence in the place where it all began. A vibrant display of patriotic celebration, Red, White, & Blue To-Do features flag raising, events at historic sites and museums, and the Red, White, & Blue To-Do Pomp & Parade with red wagon floats and entertainment.
July 3rd - Rock The Boat
Moshulu in Philadelphia
9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

For the second year; Mike Jackson of Urban Socialite has teamed up with Troy Clemons & Tarik Wallace of Hardwork Entertainment for the biggest pre-4th of July party in the city. There is no work Friday so Thursday July 3rd; so they are going to ROCK DA BOAT!!!
Music by DJ Flow and doors open at 9 p.m. and will go until 1 a.m. Be ready for a dope night with some dope people.
July 3rd-4th of July Eve Party
Aloha Bay Tiki Bar

DJ Sterl will be supplying the music for this weekly party that will be turned up for the pre-holiday. Plus, local NJ Transit workers are having their party there.
July 3rd -WDAS's Indoor/Out Door Pre-July 4th Party

Join The WDAS FM radio family for an epic dance party to kick off the 4th of July celebrations! This is an indoor and outdoor dance affair at Docklands Riverfront. Get ready to party with hosts from WDAS FM, Patty Jackson & Mimi Brown!! And dance to the hottest music provided by DJ Doc B, DJ Jamar, & DJ Gordy on the Outdoor Patio Deck. Enjoy the stunning views of the river.
July 4th Wawa Welcome America Concert & Fireworks
Benjamin Franklin, Parkway, Philadelphia, PA

The Fourth of July celebrations in Philadelphia will conclude on the evening of July 4, 2025, with the Wawa Welcome America July 4th Concert and Fireworks as Hip-Hop Trailblazer LL COOL J brings the energy, the legacy, and the culture to Philadelphia’s biggest stage with DJ Z-Trip on the turntables and GRAMMY® Award-winning R&B singer and songwriter, and Philadelphia native, Jazmine Sullivan. The night kicks off with high-energy performances by GRAMMY®-nominated pop and R&B star JoJo and Latin trap sensation Alvaro Diaz.
Produced in partnership with Live Nation, the concert will be performed at 7 p.m. in front of a live audience on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and broadcast in English on NBC10 for viewers to enjoy from their homes. The concert will be followed by Philadelphia’s largest annual fireworks display over the iconic Benjamin Franklin Parkway courtesy of Wawa beginning at 9:30 p.m.
Prior to the start of the July 4th Concert & Fireworks, concert-goers can enjoy entertainment on the Pennsylvania Lottery Groove Stage, along with local food trucks, Rita’s Italian Ice, official Italian water ice partner of Wawa Welcome America, and a chip giveaway from Herr’s in The Oasis Food Market supported by Philadelphia International Airport, interactive activities, including wellness and relaxation activities at Rest and Recharge with Independence Blue Cross and enjoy nutritional takeaways in partnership with Sharing Excess.
New this year, guests 21+ can immerse themselves in the Beer Garden Experience sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, a curated lounge featuring Tito’s signature cocktails: Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Tito’s Lemonade Spritz along with local Chaddsford Wine available for purchase. This relaxing outdoor space will have giveaways from Tito’s Handmade Vodka and activities to check out before and during the concert that you won’t want to miss.
The event will be televised live during primetime in its entirety on NBC10 & simulcast from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on NBC Sports Philadelphia+ and COZI TV. The free concert will also be live streamed on NBC10 Philadelphia News channels on Peacock, Roku, Samsung TV Plus, Amazon Fire TV, Pluto and Xumo Play as well as www.nbc10.com and the NBC10 app.
Entry to the July 4th Concert & Fireworks is free and tickets are not required. Gates open at 4 p.m. All guests must enter at Logan Circle at 20th Street through the secure checkpoint, including magnetometers. Bags and beings are subject to search.
July 4th and 5th-Michael Blackson at Helium Comedy Club, 2031 Sansom St, Philadelphia, PA

Michael Blackson has been called one of the most original stand-up comics in the country with his performances leaving audiences laughing to tears. Blackson, also known as ‘The African King of Comedy,' has been entertaining audiences all across the country and around the globe for more than a decade, amassing more than five million Instagram followers. Blackson is most known for his appearances on “Wild N' Out,” “Hip-Hop Squares,” and most recently, VH1's “Couples Retreat.” Blackson has a wildly popular podcast, “Modasucka,” and can be seen opposite Eddie Murphy in the Amazon film, “Coming 2 America,” and his unforgettable performance in the smash hit comedy “Next Friday” drew praise and a fan following. Blackson’s comedic appeal grew from his involvement with BET’s “ComicView” series HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam Showtime at Harlem” and “Live in Hollywood.” Blackson got his big break in a Los Angeles comedy club, when he was performing at the Comedy Store where Ice Cube was in attendance to see comedian Mike Epps perform. After experiencing Blackson’s performance, Ice Cube invited the young comic for a reading and the rest is smash hit history!
Blackson will be appearing at Helium for two shows July 4th and two more July 5th.
