ON THE ROAD: After Dark Review of WDAS Pre-4th of July Dance Party in Wilmington
Going through Wilmington anytime soon? Try Docklands Riverfront

WILMINGTON — I decided to make my July 4th holiday weekend a working vacation. Since I like to dance and socialize I drove to Wilmington, Delaware from my hotel in Cherry Hill, NJ to check out The WDAS Pre- 4th of July Dance Party.
The Venue- Docklands Riverfront — I loved Docklands as a venue. The inside is cool and spacious. The outside is tropical and comfortable. I am a man of a certain age and being at Docklands reminded me of great Philly venues that used to accommodate young successful people on their water front like Bahama Bay.

I don't know that The Docklands knew there were going to be as many people who showed up because the wait for food and drinks was pretty long at the height of the evening.
Parking for the event at Docklands was a nightmare. I spent more than an hour driving around and someone left the main parking lot as I was driving around for about the 3rd time. This was after failing to find street parking or a lot near Docklands.
The Docklands staff was great and made me feel welcome. WDAS should schedule more summer parties here. However, Docklands should make some kind of parking arrangements.
Best Kept Soul — Inside of Docklands is a restaurant and the food looked good. I just didn't have the patience to wait. Docklands also has a stage and performing, that night was a great band called Best Kept Soul.

Best Kept Soul, a Wilmington, Delaware-based band, is known for its dynamic live performances and versatile repertoire spanning R&B, funk, soul, and more. They've built a strong following in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond, performing at various public and private events, including weddings, festivals, and even the Soul Train Cruise. The band is known for its engaging stage presence and ability to connect with audiences of all ages, playing music that evokes both nostalgia and excitement.
Outside — Outside the crowd was both sexy and grown. Doc B from WDAS kept the music on point with people dancing til the party's end.

Over All — Loved The Venue. I want to get there early to have some food next time. I will arrive early in hopes of getting a parking spot. Wilmington is quite a drive from Atlantic City, however I would definitely take a couple of days to visit Delaware or Philadelphia and make it a road trip.
