WENONAH— The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. (NCBW), Southern New Jersey Chapter proudly announces the launch of its 2026 Rising to the Top Scholarship, a scholarship designed to support Black women who are pursuing higher education while balancing family, work, and community responsibilities.

The Rising to the Top Scholarship is awarded annually to Black female students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a strong commitment to community service. The program specifically supports single parents aged 19 and older who are enrolled in a two- or four-year college, university, or technical school and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

“Our chapter remains deeply committed to uplifting Black women who are investing in their education not only for themselves, but for their families and communities,” said Dr. Carla Clements, President of the NCBW Southern New Jersey Chapter. “The Rising to the Top Scholarship honors the resilience, leadership, and determination of students who are redefining what success looks like.”

Applicants are required to submit academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, documentation of community service, and a personal essay reflecting on their educational journey and future goals. Completed applications must be submitted electronically no later than February 13, 2026. Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the chapter’s annual Rising to the Top Awards Ceremony, with additional details provided to selected applicants
