Assembly Woman-elect Maureen Rowan thanks The NAACP-Atlantic City Branch for their role in her election

ATLANTIC CITY - The Atlantic City Branch of The NAACP held its last meeting for the year on December 8, 2025.

The new state Assembly Women-elect Maureen Rowan came to thank the NAACP for its support. The meeting started with an acknowledgement of the branch's Youth Council leading in representation at State Youth Council events.

Branch President, Kaleem Shabazz asked members to save the date January 19, 2026, as the date for the NACCP annual Martin Luther King, Jr. walk for freedom.


This year's walk will now end at the new Sheila Oliver Plaza at The Atlantic City, City Hall. Following the walk will be a service at St. James A.M.E Church with health screenings and speakers.

The new state Assembly Women-elect Maureen Rowan addressed the crowd. Rowan, both thanked the NAACP support and vowed to do well in working on issues of importance to The NAACP.

Atlantic City Council members Pat Bailey and Stephanie Marsh addressed the NAACP. The city council members thanked the NAACP and discussed continuing to work for the City of Atlantic City.

The Atlantic City Branch meets on the second Monday, of each month at 6 p.m. in the Atlantic Cape Community College's Atlantic City Campus.
