ATLANTIC CITY — Mighty Writers is an organization that cultivates the passion and skill for writing and reading in young people.

The idea started in 2009 with long time newspaper man Tim Whitaker in Philadelphia. Approximately 5 years ago, Mighty Writers came to Atlantic City, within a building located at 15 North, California Avenue.
Since coming to Atlantic City, the organization has given away thousands of books, curated hundreds of classes and even facilitated hundreds of food give a ways.
This June, Mighty Writers opened the door for their new (second) facility in Atlantic City. Mighty Writers Uptown, located at 211 Melrose Avenue (right across the street from The Uptown Complex), now offers young people the opportunity to express themselves, get help with home work and bond with new and current friends through education in a safe environment.
