Mayor Marty Small, Sr., the incumbent, is running to secure a second full term as Mayor of Atlantic City.

The Republican candidate for Mayor of Atlantic City, Naeem Ahmed Khan did not attend the NAACP's Candidate's Night. According to Kaleem Shabazz, President of The NAACP's Atlantic City chapter, Mr. Khan had been invited.

Mayor Small spent his time engaging the audience and laying out his accomplishments during his time as Mayor and then proceeded to discuss his plans for the next four years.

Mayor Small was asked directly, how he would react if President Donald Trump decided to send military troops to Atlantic City. Small responded by explaining that he would definitely "fight" any attempts at having Atlantic City under military action.
