Less than a week later, NAACP Atlantic City Branch President Kaleem Shabazz, who is also the vice president of Atlantic City's City Council, met with Raymond Tyler for a special civic engagement interview. Shabazz explained that he knowns of a plan by Sen. Vincent Polistina, R-Atlantic, to change the makeup of Atlantic City government by removing four (unnamed) city council members. According to Shabazz, Polistina plans to hand pick people to replace them. Shabazz, also asserted that Polistina intends to remove council members elected by the citizens of Atlantic City to install representatives of his choosing.

Shabazz laid out how he heard about the plan, his discussion with Polistina, and the first steps he is taking to fight this plan and make the people of Atlantic City aware.
