Holiday Reflection: How to Reconnect With Your “Why” Before the New Year Begins
Use this guided end-of-year reflection to release stress, celebrate progress, and set powerful wellness intentions for 2026.

The shopping is done. The gifts are wrapped. The holiday parties have slowed down, and now it’s time to gather with family and friends. Maybe you’re the host, and your kitchen smells amazing. Maybe you’re heading to a family gathering, carrying your famous dish. Christmas Eve gives us space to slow down, breathe, and reconnect.
So before the noise picks back up, pause for a moment.
We’ve spent a lot of time talking about the physical side of our journey—but wellness is more than workouts and nutrition. True wellness is mind, body, and spirit. As we prepare to move into 2026, this is the perfect time to reflect and reset.

Let’s start with your why.
What are you looking to accomplish in the next season—not just physically, but mentally and spiritually? How are you growing? How are you moving forward?
First: Reflect.
Take a moment to look back at your wins and the lessons you learned this year. Step back and really examine who you’ve become. 2025 may have been a whirlwind of highs and lows, but you made it through. One practice I love is journaling—so grab a notebook, pour a cup of tea, and write it out. What pushed you forward? What held you back? How did your routines and relationships support—or challenge—you? Awareness creates growth.

Second: Learn and release.
What were the downfalls that taught you something? Remember, it’s okay if your goals changed month to month. Maybe you hit a goal and needed to set a new one. Maybe you missed it and had to reset. The goal isn’t perfection—the goal is progress. Small goals add up, and they will lead you to the bigger picture.
Now release what’s holding you back. Release guilt. Release comparison. Release the need to be perfect. Let go of any thoughts that aren’t moving you forward. If you missed a goal, release the failure mindset. Replace it with this truth: I can and I will reach the goals I set for myself. Speak that truth until you believe it with your whole heart.

Third: Recommit—with purpose.
As you step into 2026, ask yourself: How do I want to feel? Energized? Confident? Focused? At peace? These feelings are your why—and your why is what will carry you forward when motivation fades.
Don’t set goals just because a new year is coming. Set goals because you now understand why they matter. Write that why down. Read it every morning when you wake up. Start each day by intentionally doing one thing that moves you closer to your vision.
Take a breath. Inhale. Exhale. Smile. You’re already on the path—and you’ve got this.
