Growth Lives Outside Your Comfort Zone: How to Keep Progressing on Your Fitness Journey

Choose Progress Over Comfort
I've been growing and stretching—not only physically, but mentally.
There have been weeks when I've looked at my workouts and thought, "I'm not doing enough." Instead of staying comfortable, I take a step back and reflect. I ask myself, Where can I grow? What can I do differently?

Sometimes that means adding weights to an exercise I was doing without them. Sometimes it means increasing the weight I'm already using. It could mean increasing my intensity, changing my routine, or challenging myself in a completely different way.
That's intentional growth.
My goal isn't just to become physically stronger. I want to become mentally stronger, too.

For me, my mind and my body are always connected. What I'm thinking can affect how I move, and what I'm experiencing physically can affect my mindset. I've learned to take both the good and the difficult moments and use them as opportunities to keep moving forward.
Because here's the thing:
I could get comfortable in my fitness journey—but I wouldn't grow.
Comfort can make you feel like you're doing enough simply because you've become used to your routine. But if you want to progress, sometimes you have to challenge yourself beyond what feels familiar.
That doesn't mean you have to go harder every single day.
It means you have to be willing to evaluate yourself.
Is this still challenging me?
Am I still progressing?
Where can I improve?
What is my next level?
Growth doesn't always mean doing more. Sometimes growth means doing something better, smarter, or with greater intention.
As your coach, I want you to stop being afraid of the next level.

Challenge yourself.
Try something new.
Increase the weight when you're ready.
Push your mindset.
And give yourself credit for how far you've already come.
You don't have to compete with anyone else.
Your next level is between you and the person you're becoming.

Coach's Challenge
This week, identify one area where you've become comfortable.
Then decide what small adjustment you can make to challenge yourself.
Don't overwhelm yourself.
Just stretch. Just grow. Just progress.

Reflection
Where have I become comfortable, and what can I do to challenge myself to grow?
Remember, you don't grow by staying where you are comfortable.
You grow when you're willing to stretch.
