Culture Fest Comes to Philly's Waterfront

PHILADELPHIA – Due to rain, Culture Fest was postponed. The new date is Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Philadelphia’s waterfront will come to life with vibrant sounds, flavors, and artistic expression as Culture Fest, powered by Kabila Events, celebrates its third year at Liberty Point, 211 S. Columbus Blvd.

It’s more than just a festival. Culture Fest is a jubilant tribute to the strength, beauty, and brilliance of Black culture. Against the backdrop of the Delaware River, guests will experience a multi-sensory celebration that weaves together live performances, culinary excellence, art, and community, all curated to uplift and empower.

“Every year, Culture Fest grows into something more powerful,” said Sonia “Sunny” Blount, founder and lead curator of Kabila Events. “We’re creating a space where Black joy is celebrated out loud; where our culture takes center stage; and where the entire city is invited to experience the richness that lives within our communities.”

What to Expect at Culture Fest 2025: Rhythms that Move You.

From the soulful sway of R&B to the pulsing beats of Afrobeats and hip-hop, the main stage will host a dynamic lineup of performers and DJs, both nationally recognized names and rising local stars. Expect spontaneous dance circles or battles, line-dancing (Where them fans at?), crowd sing-alongs, and unforgettable moments that honor the soundtrack of Black life.

Art that Speaks Volumes. Local visual artists will transform Liberty Point into an open-air gallery. Through mural installations and live art, Culture Fest will highlight themes of identity, resistance, joy and legacy, capturing the stories that make up the Black experience.

Culinary Magic. Attendees can savor everything from smoky BBQ and jollof rice to vegan soul food and signature cocktails. Black-owned restaurants and chefs will showcase their culinary artistry, creating a mouthwatering journey of cultural flavors.

Culture Influencer Awards

The annual Culture Influencer Awards will recognize changemakers, creators and community leaders who are shaping the narrative of Black excellence across Philadelphia and beyond.

Marketplace of Black-Owned Brilliance. Guests can shop from over 30 Black-owned vendors featuring fashion, skincare, books, home goods and more, each with a unique story and mission.

Education through Activation. In addition to entertainment, Culture Fest will feature interactive experiences designed to inspire and educate, including wellness activations, cultural heritage booths, and opportunities for civic engagement.

Founded in 2021, Kabila Events is dedicated to curating accessible, imaginative experiences that spotlight small businesses, community wealth building, and cultural celebration. What started as a dream has become a movement — and Culture Fest is its heartbeat.
