Van Drew Joins Officials for Opening of New Atlantic County VA Clinic in Linwood

LINWOOD – Congressman Van Drew joined veterans, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) leadership—including Interim VISN 4 Deputy Director Robert Kling and Interim Wilmington VA Director Kim Butler—and local officials for a ribbon cutting ceremony marking the opening of the new Atlantic County VA Clinic in Linwood, a major expansion of health care services for South Jersey veterans.

The new clinic replaces the former Northfield location and more than doubles the space, allowing the VA to expand care and bring additional services closer to home for veterans across Atlantic County and the surrounding region.

"It has been a long and bumpy road, but I am proud to see this clinic finally open its doors," said Congressman Van Drew. "This all started way back in 2019, when we learned the lease on the old clinic was set to expire. From day one, the priority was making sure veterans here in Atlantic County would continue to have access to care close to home. There were delays and challenges along the way, such as COVID, rising costs, and site issues, but walking away was never an option. Our veterans waited long enough, and we were not going to back away from the commitments we made to them.

"Today, we opened a clinic that more than doubles the size of the old location. It expands exam capacity, includes a much larger lab, and adds new services like radiology and physical therapy. That means veterans can get more of the care they need right here in Atlantic County instead of traveling out of state. I want to thank the Atlantic County Veterans Advisory Board, VA leadership, and everyone involved who made this possible. This was a labor of love, and our veterans are better served because we followed through."
