Atlantic City Airshow Returns with Full Festival Week of High-Flying Fun

ATLANTIC CITY — After a brief hiatus, the Atlantic City Airshow is set to make a triumphant return to the skies over the Jersey Shore as part of the Visit Atlantic City Soar & Shore Festival, a weeklong celebration packed with aerial stunts, community events and fireworks.

The festival runs from Monday, July 14, 2025, through Sunday, July 20, 2025, with airshow events scheduled for Tuesday, July 15, 2025, (Practice Day) and Wednesday, July 16, 2025, (Show Day). Both airshow performances will take place from Noon to 2:30 p.m., with Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel & Casino serving as the official show center.

Produced by Visit Atlantic City in partnership with Herb Gillen Airshows, this year’s event features a dynamic lineup of aerial acts, including:

  • The all-women Misty Blues parachute team
  • Super Chipmunk aerobatics by Nathan Hammond
  • U.S. Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin search and rescue demonstration
  • F-16 flybys from the 177th Fighter Wing of the New Jersey Air National Guard
  • Historic B-25 Mitchell bomber and UH-1H Huey helicopter flyovers
  • Aerial stunts by Skip Stewart, a fan favorite in aerobatic circles
  • Soviet-era MiG-17 fighter jet demo and Third Strike wingwalking

Festival Highlights Extend Beyond the Airshow

While the skies will be full of excitement, the ground will offer plenty of entertainment as well. The Soar & Shore Festival includes:

  • Fishing tournaments, fireworks, and live music
  • A classic car show and silent movie night at Boardwalk Hall
  • ESPN’s Slippery Stairs game show on the beach
  • A FIFA activation fan zone in front of Bally’s
  • The return of Jimmy Johnson’s “Quest for the Ring” Fishing Week
Where to Watch AC Airshow Just as Important as What to See
The 177th Fighter Wing/New Jersey Air National Guard and the USAF Thunderbirds were among the military units that drew thousands to the beach and Atlantic City Boardwalk.

The city is encouraging residents and visitors to arrive early to claim beach space along the Boardwalk between Michigan Avenue and Park Place. VIP seating, rooftop lounges, and beach bar specials will also be available.

A Boost for the City and Its Residents

The airshow’s return is seen as a significant win for Atlantic City, both culturally and economically. Canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic and again in 2024 due to funding issues, the revived event reflects a renewed commitment to showcasing Atlantic City’s vibrant summer offerings.

Atlantic City Airshow Canceled
Last year, the Atlantic City Airshow generated more than $70 million in revenue for the area which profited from the midweek experience.

“The Soar & Shore Festival is about more than just planes—it’s about community, celebration and pride in our city,” organizers said.

With a packed schedule of thrilling performances and family-friendly programming, the 2025 Atlantic City Airshow is poised to be one of the summer’s most anticipated events.
