After Dark Memorial Day Weekend Wrap-Up: Sweet T, Herbert Holler, WDAS and Summer 2026 Party Highlights

The Memorial Day Weekend marks the unofficial start of summer in Atlantic City and the combined areas of interests including Maryland, Delaware, and New York City.

Raymond Tyler, our Arts and Entertainment Editor went to Philadelphia from May 22nd to May 25th attending various events. Here were his favorite's that weekend with a bit of a preview for July 4th Weekend.

Herbert Hollar's Freedom Party

The Herbert Hollar Freedom Party is now the 4th Friday of the month at Fabrika.
Same great music and dancing. Now with better parking.
I always dress how I like. The music is always a dance classic from the first song to the last.

Sweet T at Mr. Ivy

Sweet T was one of the voices that rang out in 1980's hip hop. She was a keep member of Idol Makers with Kid N Play, Salt N Pepa and Herbie The Luv Bug. As a solo artist Sweet's song like I Got Da Feelin have been making people move through radios, in clubs and concerts since the 1980's

On Saturday, May 23rd she gave a show at Mr. IVY in Philly. The venue was changed at the last minute because of rain, and the original venue was outdoors.

Sweet T's show was short and hot. The venue was packed and the DJ's were solid.
The day "party" featured more standing than dancing.

Still, it was great to see Sweet T again live.

WDAS ANNUAL ALL WHITE PARTY

The WDAS Parties at Harrah's are always solid.
Never any special but never disappointing.
Great DJ's playing music from the 80's to today's hip hop and R&B, some line dancing and mature people dressed nicely.
I always have a good time and...it's the one event I attend in Philly where I do not wonder where I am parking and if my car is safe.

Next up for WDAS is a Pre-July 4th Party at The Docklands in Wilmington, Delaware.

All White Party at Wilson's
Sunday, May 24th

I love supporting Wilson's Restaurant.
I love supporting Atlantic City's Number 1, DJ (there is no number do for what he does) Fah D.
So I decided to check out an all-white party that booked Fah D to do the music.

Smoke On The Water Memorial Day Party

The Holiday weekend ended on The Moshulu with Mike Jackson and the Smoke on The Water family.

Mike's people are always beautiful and classy, and DJ Flow keep the party going from the time you get on the ship until the time you head to your car. You can still hear Flow's music playing as you go to the car.
Due to some unfortunate circumstances The Smoke on the Water schedule of venues has been changing.

I suggest that you follow Mike Jackson on social media and Eventbrite for the most accurate information on what's next.
