ACX1 Studios held its official Music Division launch on Sunday, May 26, 2024, as a daylong entertainment event that also introduced the industry to its new radio station Splash 98.5.

MC Delite, from the Hip-Hop band Stetsasonic, Pretty Poison, Nyaira and the area’s own Gina Thompson performed to a crowd that was drawn into the building by hearing the music and seeing the performers from the Boardwalk. Rob Schwartz, co-founder and chief music officer of ACX1 Studios, said the free celebration included live artists and DJs from various genres in addition to comedians. “The turnout is amazing,” said Schwartz. “We’re fortunate to have so many talented artists here for the launch.”

A new ownership group reopened the former the Pier at Caesars/the Playground Mall Thursday, on Sept. 14, 2023, as ACX1 Studios. The space will cater to the music and movie industries as well as offer event rental space, Schwartz has said. The building utilizes a unique concept that includes a mix of retail, restaurants, entertainment, and educational space.

Marvin Shahid Wright, also known as MC Delite, said what ACX1 Studios is working to accomplish has universal significance. “It represents diversity. It represents people coming together and it represents people having fun,” said MC Delite.
