5 Social Events In Philadelphia To See and Be Seen at This Holiday Weekend.

This weekend starts off the summer officially and Raymond Tyler will be On The Road.

Atlantic City Focus is sending our After Dark and On The Road writer to Cherry Hill, NJ for a few days to document his weekend get a way and to enjoy some sophisticated night life in Philly.

He will have his cameras and video recording devices to bring you the highlights.

Leading up to Memorial Day weekend we received requests for Raymond Tyler's picks for parties and social events during the long weekend (especially for people of certain age.)

Tyler will not make it to many of them but we asked him to pick 5 he will most likely attend. Here are 5 of many events happening in the Philadelphia area.

The good news is a comprehensive listing will appear in our Weekend Guide as always, along with a myriad of events from Atlantic City all the way to Delaware, Maryland and Virginia area.

Here's Raymond Tyler's list of 5 Social Events to attend this weekend in Philadelphia. They are listed in order of time and date.

Number 1: Herbert Holler's Freedom Party at Moshulu
Date & Time: May 23, 2025, 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Herbert Holler's Freedom™ Party is the longest running, hip-hop dance party in Philly! IMPORTANT TIP- The Moshulu will be jumping all weekend. There are two lots right next to the ship/venue but with so many people in town they will fill quickly. You want to park safely so if you are attending any of the parties at Moshulu, get there early.

Number 2: The Roof Top Affair

I have never been to this venue but so many pretty ladies have told me they are attending. So I am going to make an appearance. One thing I can say is that with DJ Touch Tone the music will be great.

Number 3: WDAS Live Saturday Night All- White

The annual WDAS White Party on Memorial Day Weekend has been a great way to connect with friends through the years, dance and make new friends. The only thing that will be missing is DJ Gary O who passed away recently.

Number 4: DJ DEE JAY 90s vs. 2010's Throwbacks
Date and Time: Sunday May 25, 2025, 10 p. m. to 2 a. m.
Location: Moshulu 401 South Christopher Columbus Boulevard Philadelphia, PA 19106

It has been sometime since I checked out a DJ DEE JAY event. The last time I went I danced all night. The dress is casual but the atmosphere is hot. This will be a crowd ready to have fun on a holiday weekend. (Note: WEAR COMFORTABLE CLOTHES and SHOES.)

Number 5: - Smoke On the Water
Date and time: MEMORIAL DAY MAY 26, 2025, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Location: Moshulu 401 South Christopher Columbus Boulevard Philadelphia, PA 19106


Smoke on the water is a lock for a great time. Host Mike Jackson always curates a great event with a crowd of successful and beautiful people.

The most sophisticated people in Philly meet to enjoy music, dancing, networking and smoke culture. Although there is a lot of cigar smoke, Moshulu is a large open air venue. If you are not into cigars there are plenty of spaces you can enjoy sans the smoke.

Yes. Atlantic City will have a lot of great events from the neighborhood to the boardwalk this weekend. If you would like to try something new and share some experiences with some great people? Get in the car with your friends and get "ON THE ROAD."

These events in Philadelphia will only cost you a tank of gas more (plus the ticket prices) to enjoy and you'll be joined by people looking to socialize from New Jersey, Delaware, PA, Maryland and others visiting from further away.

Also it should be noted all of these venues are primarily for a 35-and-older crowd and the music and vibe will generally reflect that.

I also want to say this again. If you are going to one of the three parties at Moshulu parking can be tricky.
