XREAL One S AR Glasses Launch With Brighter Display and Switch 2 Support
New augmented reality glasses promise sharper visuals, portable entertainment, and premium gaming—at a premium price.
On January 4, 2026, XREAL released their newest augmented reality (AR) glasses, the XREAL One S! These technologically savvy glasses outperform XREAL’s previous models both in functionality and price!
According to CNET writer Scott Stein, they have a greater brightness at 700 nits, 100 nits brighter than the XREAL One and Air 2 Pro. They have an excellent aspect ratio (16:10) and resolution (1200p), which is even better than their highest quality model, the XREAL Pro! Priced at $450, these glasses are perfect for tirelessly working on projects, relaxing while watching movies, and intensely paying video games.
The best part about these nifty glasses is their ability to connect to the Nintendo Switch 2! Using the $119 Neo Dock, the console can be connected via the USBC port on the bottom of the Switch. However, the Switch cannot be played using handheld mode because the Switch is in dock mode.
These glasses are great for those who travel a lot since they are small, lightweight, comfortable, and provide a home theater anywhere you go. However, they are still pretty pricey because this $450 pair of glasses can easily turn into $550, excluding tax, with the XREAL Neo Dock to play on the Nintendo Switch consoles. So, if you’re willing to spend some extra cash on these cool glasses to level up your movie and gaming experiences try them out! However, they are not extremely necessary, so don't be afraid of missing out on anything.
