Subrata Chowdhury Wins Hat Trick Victory in Atlantic City School Board Election

ATLANTIC CITY — Subrata Chowdhury has secured a hat trick victory in the Atlantic City School Board election, winning his third consecutive term. He is now the first Asian American to be elected to the board for three terms, marking a historic achievement.

Chowdhury was born in Kachuai village, Patiya Upazila, in the Chattogram district of Bangladesh. He is the eldest son of the late Dipesh Chowdhury and Radha Chowdhury. In Atlantic County, he works as a Human Services Specialist with the county government.
In addition to his professional role, Chowdhury is known for his contributions to journalism, poetry, short stories, and translation. He has published two books of children’s rhymes — Bishsho Behaya and Atu Butu Katu Kutu. He is also active in the arts and cultural community as a recitation artist, frequently participating in cultural programs in the Bangladeshi diaspora.
Chowdhury is currently serving his third term as a member of the Atlantic County Cultural and Heritage Advisory Board, becoming the first Asian American appointed to that position. He also serves on the Atlantic City Free Public Library Board of Trustees.
Chowdhury is the son-in-law of the late Shaibal Shankar Chowdhury and the late Rani Chowdhury of Uttar Bhurshi village in Boalkhali Upazila, Chattogram. He resides in the Chelsea Heights section of Atlantic City with his wife, Laki Chowdhury, and their two children, Arghya and Adri.
Chowdhury expressed heartfelt gratitude to the voters of Atlantic City for electing him to a third term.
Leaders from the Bangladesh Association of South Jersey, the Bangladesh Association of Atlantic County, the Bengal Club, and several other community organizations extended their congratulations on his victory.
