Roblox Decals Not Working in Bloxburg? Here's the Fix for Missing Images in 2026

It was an average summer day when I decided to log onto Roblox. I excitedly dashed to my computer, with loads of ideas flooding though my mind ready to play Welcome to Bloxburg. One room here, a couch there, nothing out of the ordinary. However, as I began to bring the room together with custom flooring and walls, my decals refused to work, and many others’ images completely disappeared! What happened?

During June 2026, many Roblox players discovered that their images in games like Bloxburg were gray, blank, or black. Why is this the case? Well, as seen by JayePirate, Roblox staff, there was an update that changed ID types in Roblox's scripting language, and this could have possibly impacted how decals are used. 

According to Glossie, Bloxburg content creator, the easy fix, as of now, is to look for decals with texture IDs rather than asset IDs. To do this, go to the store in the Roblox Creator Market Place. Then, look for decals under 2D assets. Once you find an image you like, copy the texture ID instead of the asset ID.

Hopefully, Roblox will create another update or developers will adjust their codes to fix this issue. For now, I hope this fix helps you!
