Why It Matters for Atlantic City & South Jersey

For Atlantic City and its neighboring municipalities, the conference offers several significant benefits:

  • Networking & visibility: Local officials can meet colleagues from across the state, share best practices, and bring back fresh ideas for community programming, storm-water management, public-works efficiency and more.
  • Economic impact: With thousands of attendees staying in hotels, dining locally and using the Convention Center, the event contributes to Atlantic City’s economy during a slow-season period.
  • Access to innovation: The exhibit hall features hundreds of companies that provide services to local governments (e.g., infrastructure, technology, environmental, recreation). Municipal staff can explore new vendors, tools and programs for their communities. Annual NJLM Conference

As the conference converges in Atlantic City, local officials from the region—including the City of Atlantic City, Atlantic County and surrounding municipalities—have a unique opportunity to showcase and scale local efforts. For example:

  • Atlantic City’s work in community engagement, municipal branding and district communications may inspire peer municipalities.
  • Regional partnerships (for example across the county or between municipal and school district communications) can leverage the conference to build collaborations.
  • Emerging themes like disaster-resilience, coastal infrastructure and workforce development are especially relevant for coastal communities like Atlantic City.

Looking Ahead

With exhibit space already sold out for 2025, according to conference organizers, future editions of the NJLM gathering remain in high demand. Annual NJLM Conference For local officials who attend this year, the key will be translating insights and connections made in Atlantic City into actionable strategies when they return home.
