Interview with Kris Auble, Fashion Designer
When life handed Kristine Auble her toughest challenge, she turned it into her brightest inspiration.
The Egg Harbor Township native and University of Maryland journalism graduate was working as a flight attendant when, at age 27, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. The experience forced her to pause and rediscover her lifelong passion for creativity. During her recovery, Auble returned to her sewing machine — a skill she first learned from her mother — and began creating clothes that reflected joy, resilience, and gratitude for life.

That creative spark became “Knockout by Chris,” her fashion brand built on the belief that every day is a special occasion. Through the Designer Development Program at The Made Institute in Philadelphia, Auble learned to design, print, and manufacture her own fabrics — skills she showcased in her debut collection, “Brighter Days.”
The vibrant collection premiered at Philadelphia Fashion Week, featuring original prints inspired by the sun, sky, and flowers — symbols of transformation and hope. “Even in our darkest moments, there are always brighter days,” Auble said in the video interview.
Now, with growing recognition and a loyal following she calls her “Knockouts,” Auble encourages others to pursue their passions fearlessly. “You don’t have to see the whole staircase,” she said. “Just take the next step.”
