'Dream Big and Vote Small’: Mayor Celebrates Landslide and Slate Sweep

ATLANTIC CITY — Voters overwhelmingly re-elected Mayor Marty Small Sr. on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, and delivered a clean sweep to his entire slate for county county commissioner , city council and school board seats.

Small received 4,748 votes, defeating challenger Naeem Ahmed Khan, who received 2,851 votes, according to unofficial results from the Atlantic County Board of Elections. The mayor said it was the most votes he has received in a traditional election.

“We’re going to make sure that people continue to dream big and vote Small,” Small told supporters. “This organization is unmatched because of the vast support we have citywide, in all age groups and brackets.”

Small said the results reaffirmed the community’s trust.

“Under my circumstances, the people of Atlantic City see right through it,” he said. “The people of Atlantic City believed in me.”

In the Atlantic County commissioner race for District 1, the Rev. Collins A. Days Sr. received 8,119 votes, defeating George Tibbitt, who received 5,910 votes, according to published reports.

In the Atlantic City Council election, all three Democratic candidates backed by Small won at-large seats.

  • Stephanie Marshall — 5,001 votes
  • Patricia Bailey — 4,963 votes
  • Mohammed Suhel Ahmed — 4,951 votes

Their Republican challengers, Ronald V. Bailey and Sayed Kausar, received 2,320 votes and 2,258 votes respectively.

Suhel Ahmed also thanked supporters.

Marshall addressed the tone of the campaign. “This election was definitely one of the meanest from the other side,” she said. “Our city is moving forward. People who hate Atlantic City are moving out, and great people are moving in — including many from the Bengali community. We love it.”

All three Board of Education candidates endorsed by the mayor also won.

  • KaShawn McKinley — 3,930 votes
  • Hollisha Bridgers — 3,159 votes
  • Subrata Chowdhury — 2,847 votes

Their challengers — Ngan Rosita Nguyen, Martin A. Edelstein, Tolan Haque and Henry Green — received 1,990; 1,879; 1,518; and 1,672 votes respectively.

McKinley thanked voters for the continued opportunity to serve children and families.

“You guys are the sole reason I’m up here,” McKinley said. “I just want to make people proud and make these kids' dreams come true. They are the most important part of our community.”

Small said he appreciated his slate standing with him throughout the campaign.

“They could have said, ‘While you deal with your stuff, we’re going to run on our own,’” Small said. “They didn’t do that. They stood by me because they know me. Atlantic City knows me.”

Before closing, the mayor directed a message to critics.

“Get to know who Marty Small is,” he said. “I love this city. I love its people. I’m resilient — and we always rewrite our story.”

All results remain unofficial until certified.
