Dr. Nycole Lyles-Belton Named Vice Principal of Pennsylvania Avenue School in Atlantic City
Longtime Atlantic City educator steps into school leadership after more than 25 years of service to Atlantic City Public Schools
ATLANTIC CITY – Dr. Nycole Lyles-Belton has been appointed Vice Principal of Pennsylvania Avenue School after more than 25 years of service to the Atlantic City Public Schools.
Atlantic City Superintendent of Schools Dr. La’Quetta S. Small said Lyles-Belton’s longstanding dedication to the district, students and school community has prepared her well for the new leadership role.
“Dr. Lyles-Belton has dedicated more than two decades to serving the students and families of Atlantic City, and throughout that time, she has demonstrated a genuine commitment to helping our students succeed,” Dr. Small said. “She understands our students, our families and our community, and she brings valuable experience as an educator and school leader to this position. We are proud to see one of our own continue to grow professionally and take this next step in leadership as we continue Moving with Purpose.”
Dr. Lyles-Belton has served as a special education teacher with Atlantic City Public Schools since 2001, providing differentiated instruction and support to students with diverse academic, behavioral and developmental needs. She has also distinguished herself through her involvement with the district’s Visual and Performing Arts program and currently serves as a districtwide Middle School Choir Advisor.
Dr. Lyles-Belton said she is excited to embrace a new leadership role without having to leave the Pennsylvania Avenue School community she has come to love.
“I’m most excited for the opportunity to serve Pennsylvania Avenue School in a new capacity—supporting our students, empowering our staff, and strengthening the school community that I already know and love,” Dr. Lyles-Belton said. “It is truly an honor to step into the role of Vice Principal and continue pouring into a place that means so much to me.”
Before her appointment, Dr. Lyles-Belton served as a member of the Pennsylvania Avenue School Leadership Team, collaborating with administrators and staff on student achievement, school climate and continuous improvement. She also has extensive leadership experience outside the classroom, including serving as Director of Children, Youth and Young Adults at New Shiloh Baptist Church and Community Life Center and as Director of Greatness in You, Inc.
Dr. Lyles-Belton earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Education with a specialization in Leadership in Educational Administration from Capella University in 2009. She also holds a Master of Science in Education with a specialization in Leadership in Educational Administration from Capella University and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Norfolk State University. She holds a New Jersey Principal Certificate of Eligibility and a New Jersey Teacher of the Handicapped certification.
