EATONTOWN – Bangladeshi American Afsana Anjum has received the “Business and Community Partnership” Award.

The award was presented to her during the 14th Annual Gala of the Community Affairs and Resource Center, held Saturday night, May 9, 2026, at the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton Hotel in Eatontown.

Afsana Anjum is the owner and chief executive officer of Tahsin Construction. Founded in 2011, the licensed construction and environmental remediation company has successfully completed more than 2,000 projects across New Jersey under her leadership.

The company has earned a strong reputation throughout New Jersey for quality workmanship, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Tahsin Construction currently serves as a contractor for lead abatement and remediation work for 15 DCA-approved agencies. The company is also recognized by the State of New Jersey as a licensed asbestos removal contractor and certified lead inspector.

The company has successfully removed lead contamination and created safe living environments in the homes of many families where children were found to have elevated levels of lead in their blood.

In Atlantic County, Tahsin Construction partnered with the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ CARC program to help Bangladeshi families make their homes lead-free and safer.

The company also worked with post-Hurricane Sandy recovery programs to support home improvement and rehabilitation efforts aimed at reducing flood risks.

Afsana Anjum earned an associate degree in Business Administration, and her work reflects a combination of strategic planning and service-oriented leadership. A mother of four, Afsana and her husband, Zahirul Islam Babul, are actively involved in the Bangladeshi community in South Jersey and continue to make important contributions to safe housing, community development, and public awareness initiatives.

Afsana Anjum also received proclamations from state senators and assembly members in recognition of her achievements. Her receipt of the Business and Community Partnership Award has generated significant positive response within the community.
