ATLANTIC CITY — Maintaining updated passports and visas is essential for anyone living abroad, especially during emergencies. However, traveling to out-of-state consulates or missions to complete these services can often be challenging. To ease that burden for the local Bangladeshi community, a mobile consular service was organized in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 10 a.m., the Bangladesh Association of South Jersey (BASJ), as part of its regular organizational activities, hosted a Mobile Consular Service Program at the Bangladesh Community Center, located at 2709 Fairmount Avenue, Atlantic City. The program was conducted in collaboration with the Bangladesh Consulate in New York.

The consular team was led by Consul General Mohammad Mozammel Haque and included:

  • Deputy Consul General Mohammad Anisuzzaman
  • Consul Kamrun Nahar
  • Administrative Officer Mohammad Golam Morshed
  • Personal Officer Abdul Awal
  • Assistant Officer Mohammad Asadur Rahman
  • Office Assistants Nawrin Jahan, Shafiqul Islam, and Moksedur Rahman

Through this mobile service, a large number of Bangladeshi expatriates were able to apply for machine-readable passports, renew existing passports, and receive other essential consular services. Bangladeshi-Americans who hold U.S. passports also took advantage of the “No Visa Required” seal and related services.

BASJ President Zahirlul Islam Babul expressed heartfelt thanks to the officials of the Bangladesh Consulate and expressed hope for continued cooperation in the future. He also thanked everyone involved in making the program a success.

General Secretary Zakirul Islam Khoka and Chairman of the Board of Trustees Abdur Rafiq also extended their gratitude to the consulate officials for providing these important services to the community.

Bangladeshi residents began gathering at the community center well before the scheduled start time. Thanks to the organized efforts and warm hospitality of BASJ officials and volunteers — including Giasuddin Pathan, Mohammad Ayub, Shahriar Ahmed, Mohammad Shah Mahmud, Abdul Jabbar, Belal Uddin, Belal Hossain, Syed Shahid, Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Zahirlul Islam Sentu, Mohsin Al Mamun, Shahjalal, Siraj Uddin, Mazahar Ali Dulal, Obaidul Limon, Sejan Talukder, and Rawshan Uddin — services were delivered smoothly and efficiently, without any inconvenience.

Community members expressed their appreciation to the Bangladesh Association of South Jersey for organizing such a beneficial program and shared their hope that similar service initiatives will continue in the future.
