ATLANTIC CITY — Dolphins Field has reopened following a $1.33 million renovation that brought new artificial turf, upgraded lighting and accessibility improvements to the home of the Atlantic City Dolphins youth sports organization.

Mayor Marty Small Sr. joined city officials, contractors and members of the Dolphins community for a ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct. 5, 2026. Current and former players, cheerleaders and coaches attended the celebration.

“Dolphins Field has been a longtime home of our young athletes, and this renovation is about honoring that history while giving our present youth a facility they can be proud of,” Small said. “We spare no expense when it comes to our youth, and they deserve this world-class field.”

Funded through New Jersey’s Green Acres Program, the project included a new gray artificial turf playing surface, fencing, goal posts, storage sheds and landscaping. Improvements also included new sidewalks and accessibility upgrades under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

A new clubhouse is planned for construction in 2027, according to the city.

The field’s previous artificial turf was installed in 2010. According to the city, years of heavy use had left the surface due for replacement.

Existing features, including a scoreboard supported by a contribution from Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, remain in place.

In its Oct. 6, 2026, announcement, the city said the Dolphins’ first home game on the renovated field was scheduled for 9 a.m. on Oct. 11, 2026.

Maruti Construction served as the site contractor, and Keystone Sports Construction handled installation of the new turf. Environmental Resolutions Inc. served as the design engineer, with oversight from the city’s Engineering Office.
