ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — The Atlantic City Cultural Festival, organized by the Bangladesh Association of South Jersey, filled Atlantic City with music, dance and a vibrant sense of community on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026.

The festival featured live music, dance performances, recognition of outstanding students, scholarship presentations, the release of a commemorative publication, vendors offering traditional foods and products, and a raffle drawing.

Held outdoors at Sandcastle Stadium, the celebration began at 5 p.m. and continued until 11:30 p.m.

Popular Bangladeshi singers S.I. Tutul and Bindukona performed during the festival, along with Indian recording artists, Pakistani singer Sonu Bhat, and a U.S.-based DJ. The audience was also captivated by dance performances from young members of the local Bangladeshi American community.

Atlantic City Public Schools Superintendent Dr. La’Quetta S. Small attended as the festival’s chief guest. New Jersey state legislators, Atlantic City’s mayor, members of City Council and other political and community leaders also attended.

Bangladeshi Americans traveled from neighboring states to participate in the festival. People from several other communities also joined the celebration, transforming it into a multicultural gathering centered on fellowship and unity.

The enthusiasm of young people raised in the United States was especially noticeable. Carrying the national flags of Bangladesh and the United States, they proudly celebrated their heritage and embraced the spirit of the festival.

Leaders of the Bangladesh Association of South Jersey said they were pleased to present South Jersey’s Bangladeshi community with a distinctive and memorable cultural celebration.

BASJ President Jahirul Islam Babul, General Secretary Zakirul Islam Khoka, Board of Trustees President Abdur Rafique, Festival Committee Convener Mazhar Ali Dulal and Member Secretary Mamunul Haque Mamun thanked everyone who helped make the event successful.

The Atlantic City Cultural Festival generated considerable excitement throughout the community in the weeks leading up to the celebration.
