AC Free Public Library Reopens Main Building Following Repairs

ATLANTIC CITY — The Main Library at 1 North Tennessee Ave. will reopen to the public on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, with a delayed opening at 10 a.m., following repairs related to a previous water emergency.

The building had been closed for flooring installation on the first floor, part of recovery efforts after burst sprinkler pipes in December 2022 caused major damage. Areas impacted included the Alfred M. Heston Room, archival collections, and public computer lab.

After reopening, the Main Library will resume regular hours: Monday through Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Richmond Branch Library will also return to its normal schedule: Tuesday and Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Computer access at the Main Library may be limited this week as staff reinstalls equipment.
