ATLANTIC CITY — The Light, America Coast to Coast and Atlantic City Focus partnered on Sunday to celebrate the resort’s contribution to 50 years of Hip-hop.

Longtime promoter Lady D, the Atlantic City Night Rockers break dance group and The Flow Session open mic venue were among the honorees because of what they’ve meant to South Jersey’s Hip-Hop culture. The Hip-Hop R&B group 120 and activist Steven Young were also honored during the 50 Years of Hip-Hop: Legacy Awards.

The event, held at the Atlantic City Soldier’s Home from 1-4 p.m., also served as a toy giveaway and the Mighty Writers youth program distributed food for all who needed extra support during this holiday season.
